Meet Anthony

Anthony Riccardella is the hands and heart behind Balls to Bling. His journey began when his son hand-turned a ring from a bowling ball in high school wood shop class. 

Fueled by their shared passion for bowling and woodworking, Anthony mastered the art of crafting unique rings, pens, and decorative pieces from bowling balls and pins. This dedication to his craft transforms the mundane or cherished memories into beautiful, enduring items.

After spending 30 years as an Athletic Trainer, working at all levels of sports from middle school atheltics to Arena Football, it was time to move on and tap into the creative side of my brain for a bit.

As competitive bowlers, my son and I have a shared love for the sport, but we also have a deep passion for woodworking. While my son was in high school, he created a ring from the bowling ball he rolled his first 300 with (after it cracked). I was immediately intrigued by the concept and inspired to learn more. I purchased my own lathe, set up a workshop in my garage, and dove into self-teaching, spending hours watching YouTube videos ( thank you Glenn and Liza) and even more time practicing on scrap wood.

 

A few tweeks to the ring and pen making processes, and more than a few long nights in the garage practicing, and I developed my own style and techniques to repurpose old bowling balls and pins.  My processes continue to be refined so I can provide the best product I can, as well as continue to challange myself to create different pieces.

 

Each piece I create is a labor of love, blending my passion for bowling and woodworking into functional, unique works of art for you.
